| Driving
Directions: |
|
From
Hite Crossing: Continue South on Highway 95 to mile
marker 66.8 (about 2.8 miles east of the "Jacob's
Chair" sign). Turn left (north) here onto the
Cheesebox Road (San Juan County Road 227a). Follow
this road 12.0 miles to the pass between Found Mesa
and Ram Mesa, and park. The road is very rough in
the first mile, but lets up after that somewhat;
high clearance 4WD vehicles are recommended but
some 2WD have done OK.

Another
terrific time - scrambling, downclimbs, and some
short swims. A small strong party can do it in a
day; others will want to take 2 days to really enjoy
everything. The glen makes for nice camping and
is close to a halfway point, and is not far from
the ruins upcanyon. Visit Tom's
site for more info. |
