Escalante River - Round 1

Five days on the Escalante River (May 7-11). Started paddling from Highway 12. The river was fast and high (relatively speaking). We were constantly trying to avoid the big boulders and sharp Russian Olives. Explored a lot of side canyons. Only saw a few people until we reached Coyote Gulch. The forecast called for rain but the weather turned out to be mild. Exited out Crack in the Wall at Coyote Gulch.
